Youthful look: Microneedling activates skin regeneration, promotes elasticity and supports firm skin for a rejuvenated appearance.
Book appointmentAt Kalia Lab, we use microneedling to activate your skin resurfacing. This is a process in which micro-injuries are inflicted on the skin using fine needles. These injuries stimulate the skin's natural regeneration and promote the production of collagen and elastin. These 2 proteins are responsible for skin firmness and elasticity as well as for the youthfulness of the skin. Your skin looks firmer, more elastic and looks fresher and younger.
Microneedling stimulates cell renewal for fresher skin.
Microneedling increases collagen production for firmer skin.
Microneedling improves elastin formation for greater elasticity.
The right time for treatment varies from person to person. In general, it is recommended if you want firm and glowing skin.
Immediately after treatment, many describe a feeling of sunburn on the skin. In the following days, a slight itch, a feeling of tightness and even scaling may be noticeable on the skin. A little expert tip: Provide the skin with sufficient moisture and healthy fats, such as ceramides. These strengthen the skin barrier and support the healing process.
Depending on which need is to be met in the treatment, various active ingredients can be used. For example, peptides are often used in anti-aging, niacinamides for acne and vitamin C for pigmentation spots! Hyaluronic acid and possibly retinol are also used for microneedling!
The difference in treatments is the depth of penetration of the needles. While cosmetic microneedling may only be performed in the epidermis (up to 0.5 mm thick), as there are no blood vessels there, medical microneedling may be performed down to the sclera (between 0.5-2.0 mm thickness). This makes it possible to stimulate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, particularly in medical treatment.
Microneedling injures the structure of our skin. Since pigments are a natural way of protecting the skin from the sun, it is important that we “get ahead” of our skin. Wearing high UV protection should be applied regardless of the weather to avoid the formation of pigments. A little expert tip: The darker our genetic skin type, the higher the probability of pigments. Protect your skin and apply your SPF more often a day if necessary, e.g. in summer!
- Avoid sunbathing and going to the solarium for a few days beforehand.
- Avoid aggressive exfoliating products.
- Use SPF 50+ daily to prevent pigmentation spots and skin damage.
- Gently cleanse your skin in the evening. In the morning, you can cleanse your face with lukewarm water. Be careful not to rub your face; just pat it dry. You can use a soothing cream for aftercare.
- Avoid applying makeup for the next 24 hours to prevent irritation of your skin.
- Avoid sweaty sports for the next 24 hours. Light activities such as relaxing stretching are fine.
- Avoid extreme temperature changes and external heat for the next 24 hours.
- Avoid alcohol consumption for the next 24 hours.
- Avoid intensive exfoliation, sunbathing, and swimming for the next 48-72 hours.
