What is a fractional CO2 laser?

The fractional CO2 laser treats the skin in a fine dot pattern. It removes tiny areas of skin (skin resurfacing) and stimulates collagen formation, while the tissue in between supports healing.

What can the CO2 laser treat on the face?

It softens fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation and enlarged pores and tightens the skin. The eye area can be treated as well.

What does a CO2 laser treatment in Hamburg involve?

After the consultation, a numbing cream takes effect for approx. 30 minutes, followed by approx. 30 minutes of laser treatment. Plan 60 to 70 minutes in total for the appointment.

Does the CO2 laser hurt?

Thanks to the numbing cream, the treatment is well tolerable. On request, nitrous oxide is also possible. Please state this when booking.

How long are healing and downtime?

Redness, swelling, scabbing and dry skin are normal. After approx. 7 to 10 days you are socially presentable again.

When will I see the result?

You will see first improvements after healing. The final result shows after up to 3 months, once new collagen has formed.

How long do the results last?

Results last up to 24 months. For scars, results are permanent after several sessions; a refresh about once a year can make sense.

How do I prepare for the treatment?

No aggressive treatments for one week beforehand, shave your beard 24 hours before, no alcohol for 12 hours before. Come without make-up or mascara and wear glasses instead of contact lenses. About 1 hour before the appointment you can take 400 mg ibuprofen.

What do I need to know after the treatment?

Cleanse your face with water only, apply erythromycin cream twice a day for one week and care for your skin with Physiogel balm. Use SPF 50+ for at least 4 weeks, avoid sweaty exercise and saunas for 10 days and direct sun for 2 months. No make-up while scabs are present.

When is the best time for a CO2 laser?

Autumn is considered ideal because there is less sun exposure and you can let your skin heal in peace and protect it well.

Does the CO2 laser help with acne scars?

Yes, the fractional CO2 laser is one of the most effective methods for acne scars. Several sessions are usually advisable. Acne scar treatment is available from 1,199 EUR, incl. PRP and vitamin C.

What is the difference between CO2 laser and radiofrequency microneedling?

The CO2 laser removes skin and renews it deeply; healing takes approx. 7 to 10 days. Radiofrequency microneedling tightens and refines the skin texture with only 2 to 3 days of redness and swelling, usually in a series of 3 appointments.
