A skin booster is an injection treatment that delivers active ingredients directly into the middle layers of the skin – where creams barely reach. Polynucleotides are highly purified DNA fragments obtained from salmonid fish – which is why people often speak of “salmon DNA”. In aesthetic medicine, they are injected into the skin as a skin booster. We work with two active-ingredient concepts: PolyPhil/PhilArt by Croma (polynucleotides) and Profhilo by IBSA (non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid). Which product suits you, we decide together in your medical consultation – depending on your skin condition and your treatment goal.

Both skin boosters improve skin quality but work at different points. Profhilo is based on non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid and mainly provides deep hydration and better elasticity. A skin booster is ideal for slight fine lines and declining elasticity, dull skin, an uneven complexion or first age-related changes in skin structure. Many people want an extra portion of glow especially in summer, because they wear less make-up in warm weather or on holiday. There is no “wrong” time – it is best to tell us your goal in the consultation.

Pain perception differs from person to person. We use cold for local anaesthesia and, on request, additionally apply our very strong numbing cream. As a rule, the treatment is therefore little to not at all painful.

Durability depends on your metabolism, your lifestyle and your facial expressions. As a rule, you can expect 6 to 12 months after three treatments. After that, the treatment can be refreshed if needed.

We recommend a series of three treatments, each one to two months apart. First results are usually visible after about two to four weeks.

Yes, a skin booster can be used specifically in the sensitive eye area to gently smooth fine lines and crinkles and visibly hydrate the skin. Whether and which treatment makes sense for you in this area, we discuss in detail beforehand.

Before the treatment: avoid alcohol for 12 hours and ideally come without make-up – if needed, we remove it on site. After the treatment: avoid sweaty exercise for 24 hours (light stretching is fine) and alcohol on the day of treatment. For one week, avoid strong UV exposure, whirlpools, swimming pools as well as peelings and facials. For the first two weeks, wear sunscreen with SPF 50 every day.

Whether a skin booster is an option for you is clarified in the medical consultation and medical history. As a rule, we do not treat during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in the case of acute inflammation or infection in the treatment area, or in the case of intolerance to any of the ingredients.
